Prenatal Chromosomal Microarray

Prenatal Chromosomal Microarray Analysis (CMA) is an advanced diagnostic test used to evaluate the fetal genome for copy number variations (CNVs)—that is, small gains (duplications) or losses (deletions) of chromosomal material that may not be visible under a microscope through standard karyotyping.
CMA is recommended in several clinical situations, including:
Abnormal fetal ultrasound findings
Recurrent pregnancy loss
Previous child with genetic abnormalities
Normal karyotype but high suspicion of genetic disorder
